Earlier this year, we published the “Microsoft Mega Data Centres - Think Cloud First” blog when C2 was granted the opportunity of a guided tour around one of Microsoft’s Mega Data Centres in Dublin Ireland. $15 billion has already been invested on infrastructure to guarantee reliable, scalable and security enhanced online services for customers.
Microsoft has now announced that Dynamics CRM Online will be deployed & managed from UK Data Centres for customers with a billing address in the UK in the first half of 2017.
These new data centre regions are welcome news for UK based businesses who value assurances on data location, security & privacy. This represents a significant investment from Microsoft which C2 believes further emphasises their Cloud Strategy commitment in the UK.
These new cloud offerings are also in line with the decision from the European Court of Justice who ruled that the ‘Safe Harbour’ agreement that was intended to restrict the transfer of European citizens’ data to the US is no longer valid. The UK based data centre not only addresses this EU issue, but also any concerns with data being held outside of the UK.
