The Dynamics CRM App for Outlook is a lightweight app that is used to view and synchronise information between Dynamics CRM and Outlook.
The Dynamics CRM App for Outlook is available on desktop computers running Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016, Outlook on the web, or Microsoft Outlook for Mac (exchange Server version 15.0.847.32 or greater is required) and on most mobile devices. In this blog we showcase the setup and main features of the Outlook App for Dynamics CRM.
Before we can access Dynamics CRM App in Outlook, some simple configuration is required through the Office 365 portal.

The Outlook App is configured through the “Admin centres” -> “Exchange” option. From the organization -> add-ins we can Add the App from the Office Store. Once in the Office Store search for the “Dynamics CRM” app.

Once added, you can select whether the Add-in is enabled or disabled by default.

Once the functionality has been enabled, we will then see the “Dynamics CRM” option located at the top left of every email.

Clicking the CRM icon will open up Dynamics CRM App within Outlook.

Contacts who are not in the CRM can be created as a new contact through the drop down form.

Emails from contacts within Dynamics CRM will be automatically recognised and synchronised to the Contact’s record within CRM. You can see a brief overview of an existing Contact in the Outlook CRM section which will include recent Cases, Opportunities and Activities. To get the full picture, we can click the top right icon to navigate to the Contact’s record in Dynamics CRM.
