Microsoft Announces Deprecation of Dynamics 365 Legacy Features

Back to Blog Listing

Microsoft Dynamics product team has announced its deprecation of a number of older Dynamics CRM features, including the Dynamics CRM 2011 endpoint.

What does this mean for you?

If you are using any of these deprecated features then now is the time to take action as these will be removed in a future release of Dynamics 365. Some of the key features that are impacted are listed below.

  • SOAP Endpoint – We highly recommend reviewing your custom code that was written in the last 4 years to ensure that it is updated to use the new Web API
  • Legacy Form Render option for client side JavaScript may not work in the latest Dynamics 365 version. The Custom JavaScript on the Dynamics CRM 2011 forms will only work if the Legacy Form Render option is selected
  • You may need to consider replacing the old Article and Knowledge Base entities with new Knowledge Base entities to support the new Interactive Service Desk features. If you use the Knowledge Base features in Dynamics CRM 2011, you may need to consider doing migration work to the new entities in Dynamics 365
  • Older mobile browsers are no longer supported
