The Council requirement was for a CMS that could power their staff intranet and integrate with other applications. It was also extremely important that the chosen solution was intuitive so that they could empower departental employees allowingthem to easily maintain and update content in their respective service areas.
The intranet, branded "The Zone", required to be dynamic and to communicate priority news and actives throughout the organisation. Usability, information architecture, site search (including content and documents) were crucial to efficiency and productivity targets set.
On the back of the success of the intranet project, redevelopment of their local government website www.aberdeencity.gov.uk using Activedition do deliver a range of eServices was quickly progressed. Thereafter they have designed and developed a number of further websites using the Activedition platform to support projects & initiatives that relate to: art galleries & museums, inward investment, tourism, etc.

Being commended by SOCITM (Society of Information Technology Management) in their better connected survey of local authority websites.
Gaining Shaw Trust Accessibility+ accreditation (involved rigorous website testing, conducted by disabled web users).
While C2 has a close relationship with ACC on product devlopment, the Aberdeen City Council story is a good example of an organisation who have used Activedition to full potential; using the platform to control projects and initiaves.
